President Biden speaks before Congress about the threat Assad poses to the stability of the Middle East.
President Biden has spoken before congress, in a speech reminiscent of former President Bush’s call to arms against Iraq in the Early 2000’s. President Biden decried the actions of Assad against his own peoples, namely the use of chemical weapons and extra-judicial killings, noting that such actions deserve to be condemned by the international community and while the world may fail to act, the United States would. Such comments have received a standing ovation for congress, however there was some vocal opposition to the speech. Namely Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R. GA) who is quoted as saying. “Everytime America is on the verge of doing great things, we keep getting embroiled in another foreign war.”. Rep. Greene has also been highly critical of the Biden administration stance on Europe with the conflict in Ukraine, calling the new Wargames “Placing a powerkeg, next to a fire.” Rep. Greene however only has a small number of other Representatives that follow her, and is not expected to halt the currently rising support for Biden and his calls to action against Syria.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R. South Carolina) however has crossed the aisle with several other Republicans to agree to Biden’s call for action, against Syria. The energy in the Senate and House are electric, and many can be seen speaking to General Mark Milley, who has not given any public statements in recent weeks, as calls for the explanation of the activation of several national guard divisions and the rapid spin up of the 82nd Airborne Division have been cause for concern among Americans who are once more afraid of a new possible conflict brewing.

Mark Milley giving a speech on readiness in the Armed Forces, it should be noted he refused to take any questions.
Global heads of state have made few statements, but most notably the Syrian regime has been quiet. Russia however noted that any action against Syria on such false charges would be yet further proof of the failure of the current world system, in which the strong can abuse the weak. Benjamin Netenyahu, however seems to be overjoyed, but has only given cryptic statements, noting that those who seek to repeat the acts of the 1940s will share the same fate, and that the enemies of Judaism have never succeeded, nor will they. Other NATO allies to the United States have been silent as well as China. Iran noted that any attempt to intervene in Syria would see a continuation of previous strikes. Lastly the response from within the United States may seem united in the senate and house, but publicly the move is being seen as highly unpopular as social media users decry these words as a repeat of 2003, regardless of how this plays out, we will be here to bring you further updates.
