Dr Fauci denouncing the decrease in funding.
After a series of Defense spending bills, and increased aid to both Ukraine and Israel, it was only bound for something to be gutted or tax be raised to pay for the new government expenditure. One of the biggest hits though would be the CDC. With large government grants given during the years of Covid, and much hype during that time, it seems their era is finally gone, along with the threat of Covid. Joe Biden is touting this as proof of the success of his campaign to eradicate Covid and a natural step to balancing the budget, however Doctor Fauci and several other Medical professionals have noted this may be a step in the wrong direction as Covid was seen as entirely preventable and by reducing the CDC’s budget, there runs another risk of something similar happening again.
In a rare show of bi-partisan support, both sides agreed that the time of the CDC receiving such a budget was overdue to be cut. With some even seeing Dr Fauci’s words as a threat to the government. Even Donald Trump, who is still wanted by the Federal government, was noted in speaking out against Fauci. However things also hit in this change of budget was funding for hospitals which have also taken a sharp hit alongside the CDC, with many medical centers across America becoming overburdened now that they must operate at a reduced capacity.
